Nouveau Fest at Fenn Valley Winery in Michigan

The French began a tradition of releasing the first wine from the past vintage in mid-November, and when Fenn Valley Winery produced their first Nouveau wine in 1992 they kept the tradition.

Unlike a traditional Nouveau from France, Fenn Valley's Nouveau ages extremely well and is often even more enjoyable after it has aged two or three years in the bottle. Many of the“more experienced” Nouveau fans take home enough Nouveau to enjoy throughout this holiday season and to set a few bottles aside for next year as well.  Fenn Valley plan to open some of the older vintages to taste so visitors can see for themselves just how well these marvelous wines age.

On Saturday, December 4th the staff at Fenn Valley invite the public to taste the featured Nouveau wine, and enjoy some hors d'ouvres, cellar tours, tasting and plenty of space to visit with friends.  Winemakers Doug, Eric, and Aaron will be present to answer any questions about the wines or the remarkable 2010 vintage in general.  The Nouveau Fest event is open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, and is free.

Visitors coming to West Michigan are invited to stay at the Victoria Resort in South Haven.  Located a short drive away from Fenn Valley in the lakeshore community of South Haven, the Victoria offers rooms with fireplaces & whirlpool tubs, plus a full homemade breakfast each morning.  Groups or families coming into the area for Nouveau Fest should consider reserving a two bedroom or three bedroom cottage at the Victoria.  Several special packages are available for those planning a weekend getaway.  Details are available on the Victoria Resort webpage, or call the innkeepers directly at 269-637-6414.
