Fenn Valley Winery will host their annual Nouveau Fest on December 1st. The "nouveau" or "new" wine celebration is a French tradition, where the grapes harvested this year are developed into the first wine of the 2012 vintage.
Fenn Valley has created a dry red wine as the Nouveau wine this year and you can expect a fair amount of berry flavor with a very smooth finish. According to Doug Welsch, owner and winemaker, the grapes grown this year should yield some beautiful wines despite a challenging growing season.
Nouveau Fest is free and open to the public, and their will be handmade pizzas available for pairing with the wines. The winery will be open all day, but the Nouveau Fest is from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. For a longer visit in the West Michigan area, the Victoria Resort in South Haven has bed & breakfast rooms available for couples and several cottages for group gatherings.
