The highlight of the festival is the chili cook off, featuring over twenty hearty creations of restaurants and organizations downtown. Over the past couple of years, the Elks Club, Clementine's, Hawkshead and Taste have been in hot competition for first place. Visitors are encouraged to pick up a ballot to score each chili entry based on heat, consistency, meat to bean ratio and overall appeal.

Embracing the warmth while enjoying the outdoor cold is definitely a recurring theme. The local Boy Scouts will have several firepits throughout downtown, and for a dollar donation they'll toast up the perfect marshmallow for a s'more. Local restaurants & bars also participate in the Pub Slide, featuring special festival adult beverages.
The South Haven Chamber of Commerce is coordinating with the Victoria Resort Bed and Breakfast and other North Side businesses to provide a toasty warm (and complimentary) shuttle to downtown festivities. Stay tuned for more details!
Bed and breakfast rooms for couples and guest cottages for families or small groups are available for the Ice Breaker weekend at the Victoria Resort. Additionally the Victoria Resort is offering an "Ice Breaker Price Breaker" special, where the third night is 50% off any accommodation.
