Wine pairing? Kick it up a notch in South Haven this weekend!

Wine and food pairing events have been incredibly popular in recent years, but the latest trend features the delectable deliciousness of the bottle - from sipping whiskeys to muddled cocktails.

This weekend don't miss the special pairing dinner being hosted at Sophie's Steakhouse Saturday, February 21st. The menu will feature some incredible dishes paired with the libations from Coppercraft Distillery in Holland, Michigan.  Original, handmade cocktails will be
prepared specifically for this meal, from the local distillery that goes from "grain to glass".

If you've never heard of Coppercraft, I'm not surprised.  It's just starting to develop as a player in the world of spirits.  It began in 2012 with two friends who gutted the the old Belden Brick and Supply building.  Tucked in Holland's industrial area, it houses their 350 gallon copper still and tasting room.  Hosting cocktail crafting classes on the premises and traveling all over Michigan to introduce their products has paid off, with distribution beginning in Detroit, Chicago and Denver.  This West Michigan original is still hitting the pavement in their own backyard, working with regional hot spots for special "pairing" experiences at Food Dance of Kalamazoo and Sophie's Steakhouse.

Sophie's Steakhouse is located on North Shore Drive, about one mile from the Victoria Resort Bed & Breakfast.  For dinner reservations, call 269-637-2121.  For room reservations, call the Victoria Resort at 269-637-6414.  Rooms are available in the bed and breakfast, but check out the cabins with the wood fireplaces - the perfect compliment to your charred whiskey barrel tasting experience!
